Verify the problem:
- Identify exactly where the condensation is. Wipe both sides of the glass — interior and exterior. If condensation remains visible AFTER both surfaces are dry, it’s between the panes (IGU failure). If wiping removes it, it’s normal surface condensation from temperature differential.
- Look for “fog” or haze patterns. IGU failures often show as a foggy/hazy area in the lower portion of the glass, or speckled water droplets that don’t move when you wipe the glass.
- Check during temperature changes. Inter-pane moisture often becomes most visible during cool mornings or after AC has run all night. The temperature differential brings the moisture out of vapor and into visible droplets.
